Understanding Click Latency vs. Human Reaction

This test measures the total "Click-to-Photon" loop, but in reverse. It calculates the time from the moment the pixels on your screen change color to the moment your operating system registers the USB interrupt signal from your mouse.

1. The Chain of Delay

Total latency = Monitor Refresh Delay + Human Reaction + Mouse Switch Travel Time + MCU Processing + USB Polling Rate + OS Driver Latency.

2. Polling Rate Impact

A 125Hz mouse adds ~8ms of delay. A 1000Hz mouse adds ~1ms. An 8000Hz mouse adds ~0.125ms. Upgrading your mouse is the easiest way to improve your score.

3. Switch Technology

Optical switches (Razer, Wooting) actuate faster than mechanical switches because they eliminate "Debounce Delay," saving 2-10ms instantly.

Latency Benchmarks: Where do you stand?

Reaction Time (ms) Rank Description
< 150ms PRO / GODLIKE Peak genetic potential + top tier hardware (144Hz+ Monitor).
150ms - 200ms ADVANCED Typical high-level FPS gamer. Very responsive.
200ms - 250ms AVERAGE The average human visual reaction speed.
> 300ms CASUAL Likely caused by TV screens, wireless interference, or fatigue.
